Day Job Killer Getting Interesting

Day Job Killer... its about to get interesting...

Day Job Killer… its about to get interesting…

Lets be real here. Most people will never abandon their nine-to-five, stuck-in-a-rut jobs. They will die that way, broke and bitter. But you have the chance to be the exception. This is your personal roll call: to break away from the direction that you are headed in, the one filled with pain, frustration and deceit….

That’s how the copy reads for a hot new product called Day Job Killer. Does it work? I don’t know, I have yet to try it. But I do know that Clickbank is currently indicating a gravity of almost 800, an incredibly hight number for any offer. What is gravity you ask? It is Clickbanks measure of how many of it’s affiliates are promoting the product. So jusging by the numbers of affiliates promoting this product it must be making someone some decent money. Certainly worth a read, even if just to read a good selling page.

AdSense is Dead

In case you haven’t heard about The Death of AdSense, here is the link to an eBook that is making its rounds through many blogs and forums.

I haven’t read it yet. I just scanned the pdf and think I know where he’s coming from. Basically, ever since Google allowed AdWords advertisers to seperate their search bids from their content bids, people like Scott Boulch have been hit in the wallet with their AdSense sites. I can’t say I have, but then, I’m not really sure of that. What I can say, is I too am looking to CPA (cost per action) as an attractive alternative to contextual ads to make money on my sites. The revenue potential is so much larger.

In case you don’t know how CPA works is, you place some ad on your site just like you would Google ads. The ads might be graphical, textual, that part is irrelevant. The difference is that the end user that clicks through the ad must do something like sign-up for something, or give them their email address. You can see how this is asking a bit more from the end user, and that is why advertisers are willing to pay a lot more for an action. There are big CPA networks and small CPA networks. Commission Junction and Linkshare are two big ones. Azoogleads is much smaller, but the payouts per CPA are still very lucrative. We’re talking sometimes of over $50 for one action! That would be a lot of Google AdSense clicks now wouldn’t it be?

I am headed in this direction as well, and I’m still learning the ropes. Some people make serious money in CPA. Shoemoney for one. I’m still going to use AdSense though, it’s still steady income for me.

AdSense is dead. Long live AdSense.

August 2006: Top Earners

The Blog Herald has posted about its Top Earners for August so I thought I would do the same.

Here’s where I see the money coming in-

  1. Google AdSense is currently my biggest chunk of income.
  2. Chitika comes in at a close second largely because my sites are product related.
  3. Amazon sales have picked up a bit lately, always good to see.
  4. Text Link Ads bring in a bit but I’m cooling to them.
  5. Azoogleads continues to perplex me.  I have sent them close to a thousand clicks and have not seen one single conversion.
  6. Commission Junction zip, nadda, zero.

How are you doing?
