Category hint is a new targeting option by which you can pick and choose from a list of categories supported in the eMiniMalls system. Your selected category will be used as a “fallback” in the event that the system does not find an appropriate product for your preferred keyword(s).

This is a welcome enhancement to many as eMinimall CTR rates tend to be lower than some other PPC systems such as Google AdSense. I’ve always liked the fact that Chitika allows you to steer the ads in the right direction so they match the content of your site. If you have web-coding skills, you can get pretty fancy with the targetting.

You may be familiar with the florist giant FTD. Just last week FTD fired their head of marketing, saying-

“The consumer business’s order growth for the 2005 Christmas season was below expectations [because of] our decision not to pursue high-cost order volume associated with online search,” FTD president/CEO Michael J.
