AdGenta and Qumana Ads
Bloggers become experienced surprisingly fast. After a few months, most bloggers begin get frustrated by the limitations of the tools that got them started in the first place. This makes sense: most of those tools are targeted at ‘newbies’ in the interest of creating the widest possible usage. That is good for the company that hosts your blog, but it might not be good for you.
Qumana is for smart, experienced bloggers who want maximum freedom in their blogging life — the freedom to post to multiple blogs and blog platforms, and the freedom to make money from advertising with no restrictions.
What is AdGenta? AdGenta is Qumana Software’s newest development. AdGenta is an advertising network focused on inserting ads into blog posts. Our ad network is based on gathering the best of other ad networks, and invidual partners, into one central location. This gives you the best inventory, the best CTR, and the greatest opportunity to earn money. Worth a look I think.

Blogspot implements anti-spam tactic
Google this morning implemented a change to their Blogger blogs.
No longer can you post to blogger blogs without entering a captcha code. What’s a captcha code you ask? It’s a small graphic with wiggly letters on it. You are asked to write the letters and/or numbers as you see them into a form field.
The thinking is that automated programs cannot figure out the letters on the graphic, because character recognition software just isn’t that advanced, whereas a human can figure out the letters.
What impact will this have?
The largest impact I see it having is that thousands will flee from blogger blogs and go elsewhere. After all, it’s a real pain in the you know what to enter in these codes. And there are those like me, who don’t even use the web interface to post their blog entries. I use a tool called w.bloggar, which is light years better than using a web interface to enter posts.
Secondly, this will reduce the number of new blogs being created for the sole purpose of spamming the web with worthless pages. This is the real intent of Google with this move. The problem is, what about all the spam blogs already on the web. Blogger is known to be home to the largest number of spam blogs already out there. I don’t see how this move solves that problem.
Basically, this is too little, too late. And the captcha method of spam prevention leaves plenty to be desired.
